Youth Days Track and Field Meet...
LA84 Foundation Mt. SAC Relays Youth Days
The Youth Days Track Meet is culmination of our Youth Days Program which introduces the sport of track and field in a fun filled day of competition at Mt. SAC. The two-day event starts with middle school students competing on Friday and elementary school students, grades 3-6, competing on Saturday. The event is free for elementary students and $5 for middle school students. Participants receive a t-shirt, collectors pin, certificate, program and a ticket to the April 16-18 Mt. SAC Relays. Each competitor will be allowed to compete in 1 running, 1 field and 1 relay event. Competitors may also compete in an Shuttle Hurdle Race. Competitors will select the events they wish to enter on the day of the event. Events vary according to grades. Please see chart below to see what events are available for each grade.

Rules of Participation
a) No spiked shoes or “modified” spiked shoes. Only “flats” will be allowed.
b) No starting blocks may be used.
c) All four members of a relay team should be of the same sex and grade division. (Grades 3-4, “Combined” is an exception)
d) All “field event” athletes will be allowed warm-up time, then two attempts to achieve their best performance. Each competitor will be competing against those in their flight of 9 athletes. Their best mark will be recorded for awards. Jr. Javelin (approximately 4 oz bean bag) is an overhead throw for distance. Shot put is 6 pounds for girls and 8 pounds for boys. In the High Jump all athletes will be given 6 attempts to achieve their best effort.
