Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational To Add
Additional Races For Student/Athletes Taking The PSAT

Division I and II Coaches:

We realize that you may have sophomores or juniors that will be taking the PSAT test on Saturday, October 21 and may not be able to make it to your regularly scheduled race that day for the Mt. SAC Invitational.

In order to give those athletes an opportunity to race, we are adding two special races at the end of the schedule on Saturday afternoon (approximate time will be about 3:30 PM—we will post online an exact time once the meet is fully seeded and the final schedule is set).

There will be one special boys race and one special girls race for any sophomores or juniors who did not make their school’s regularly scheduled race earlier that day because they were taking the PSAT test.

There will be no team scoring or team awards in these races, but we will still award medals to the top finishers in each race (we will decide on meet day exactly how many medals to award based on the size of the fields in each race).

This will not be an “ALL COMERS” race for anyone to run. These races are being set up specifically for sophomores and juniors who cannot run earlier in the day due to PSAT testing.

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING REGISTRATION
FOR THESE SPECIAL RACES:

  • EVERY athlete you would like to run in the Mt. SAC Invitational must pre-register by the entry deadline of October 9—including those athletes who will be taking the PSAT test and are planning in running the late special “PSAT” races.
  • Enter each athlete in his or her proper division just as you would normally do.
  • All of your school’s teams (V-JV-So-Fr) will still be placed in the regular divisions you enter.
  • On race day, if your scheduled race goes off before your sophomores or juniors arrive, then those late athletes can use their colored bib numbers and compete in the special “PSAT” races at the end of the day.
  • EVERY ATHLETE COMPETING IN THE SPECIAL ‘PSAT’ RACES MUST HAVE BEEN PRE-REGISTERED ONLINE AND MUST BE WEARING A BIB NUMBER TO COMPETE.
  • You will only be charged the regular entry fees for entering athletes or teams. You will not be charged additional fees for the “PSAT” races at the end of the day.
