Red ArrowLegendary Coach Gene Blakenship Inducted Into the Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational Hall of Fame

Legendary Coach Gene Blakenship of West Valley High School in Washington and formerly of Hart High School in Newhall California, was inducted in to Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational Hall of Fame. He joins a short list of legendary coaches who have been inducted including Dave Japs (Rialto High School), Joe Kelley (Penninsula High School), Ken Reeves (Nordhoff High School), Jack Farrell (Thousand Oaks High School, St. Monica High School) and Bob Messina (University High School, Cal State Fullerton, UCLA). Red Arrow20,000 High School Runners Set To Start At The Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational!
October 23, 2008
20,000 High School Runners are set to start at the 2008 Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational. The 51st event will feature some of the top high school runners in the nation including 3 time champion, Jordan Hassay of Mission College Prep. Over 570 High Schools are enterd into this Saturday and Sunday's competition. Competition begins at 12:15 pm on Friday and 7:00 am on Saturday.

During the 2008 Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational, there will be significant road construction which is causing long delays at the corner of Temple and Grand Avenue. The best way to arrive at the Mt. SAC Cross Country Course is by exiting Temple Avenue off of the 57 Freeway and heading west to parking lot F. Red ArrowReebok Elite Athletes, Jorge Torres and Blake Russell, will be in Attendance at the 2008 Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational!
Reebok and the Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational are pleased to announce that Reebok Elite Athletes, Jorge Torres and Blake Russell, will be at the 2008 event in the Reebok tent to sign autographs, answer racing and training questions and to hand out awards. Torres is a former NCAA Cross Country Champion at the University of Colorado and was a member of the 2008 Olympic Track and Field Team in the 10,000 meters. Russell was a member of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Women's Marathon Team.

JORDAN HASSAY NAMED USATF ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
10/24/07 - Congratulations to JORDAN HASSAY who was named the USA Track and Field Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational. Hassay, a junior from Mission College Prep High School, captured the Girl's Super Sweepstakes Race in a time of 16 minutes and 42 seconds for her third consecutive Mt.
